Welcoming note from Mr. Sulay

Dear students,

Welcome to our course, Human Communication. I am your lecturer, Sulay Jalloh and I'm excited to work with you this semester. You are probably wondering what to expect in OUR class. Firstly, I believe that this is OUR class. I plan to learn from you and hope that you will learn not only from me but also from your peers. Rumors have it from my past students that I can be tough, know my materials, like to make class enjoyable and I'm always energetic.

My teaching philosophy is simple: to maintain your newly learned skills, you must practice them. All my courses will be skill based and will depend upon your active participation. I do assign a variety of assignments so that you can demonstrate these skills in a variety of ways with a mixture of assessment tools. If you are experiencing communication anxiety or having problems grasping the materials, please come see me! Sometimes just talking helps, other times we might want to set a schedule to work together outside of class. You can come by just to chat too! If you can not make it during my office hours, we can also schedule an appointment to meet outside of them. I am looking forward to knowing you better this semester!

Regards
Sulay
